Split – shopping in the ruins of a Roman palace

Split is the second biggest city in Croatia and a beautiful one to. The day offer us lots of culture and history. In the heart of Split lies Diocletian’s Palace, one of the most well-preserved and largest Roman buildings in the world, which is featured on the UNESCO list of cultural heritage. Today, there are about 3000 people living within the walls of the palace. You will find a great selection of restaurants, bars and shops. Within the walls, there are good shopping opportunities with small quaint shops. On our way to Split, we will make a stop in Klis, one of Croatia’s most important strategic points throughout history. We will visit ”Stella Croatica”, a small factory founded by the Polić family. Here they produce different Croatian delicacies according to old traditional recipes. You’ll have the possibility to taste their products and do some shopping. During our time in Split, you will also get free time after the guided tour, to explore the city some more.
